Even though it’s still a while away we are starting to prepare for the new cruise. This summer we’re welcomed on board the RRS Discovery. The Discovery is a brand new ship that is run by the British National Oceanography Centre.  She is just under a 100 m long (99.7 m), so we’ll have a bit more room to walk around than on RV Pelagia (66 m). We’re sure she’ll safely take us to the Irminger Sea and back.

The goal of this cruise will be to recover all the moorings that we deployed in July 2015 and to redeploy them for a period of two years. We’ll also deploy a new set of RAFOS floats. Right now we are in the planning phase, deciding who is coming along and what we need to bring. More news will follow soon.
